Of Love and Life Eternal

Done for the Wacom Dreams contest. Unlike many of my drawings, where I get tired of working on it and just want it done, I forced myself to take it slow on this piece and really work on getting the details and everything just right. As such, this is one of the most detailed drawings I have ever done, and one of the most personal. This drawing has great meaning to me, and through it you can see a part of me than many rarely see.

Updates and plans

Wed Oct 21, 2009, 11:16 PM
Hey... So I realize I haven't updated my journal in a while. I have a really bad habit of that, and for that I apologize. A lot has happened reccently. I moved a couple months ago, and just a few weeks ago my brother and his wife had a little baby boy. He's adorable, and I'm loving being an Aunt.

I am planning to do more art, I just have been in a bit of a artist block for the past while. I know I need to create something for my Uncle for his birthday, but beyond that I don't really have any goals I'm working toward. I am excited 'cause at the end of November there is a Renn faire that I really want to go to. It's an Arts and Crafts fair, and I'm hoping it'll be a place where maybe I can sell my art. Yes, you heard me right. I might actually try selling my art. We'll see what happens. It wouldn't be until next year at the soonest anyhow, but... maybe. :) We'll also have to see what happens when I start school next Fall. I am planning to major in Music Performance (that part hasn't changed) with a minor in Fine Arts. I really miss taking art classes, and they teach a lot. Even if it's only technique and basic concepts... it fine tunes my abilities, and I'm in need of that right now.

Anyhow... I need to get to bed before I fall asleep at the computer. I'd love to hear some comments from you guys... *hint hint* I really do enjoy talking with you, and getting to know your opinions.

Talk to ya later!

My art style varies greatly. To be completely honest, I don't know if I have just one style I do. It ranges from surrealism, to cartooning, to realism. Although my favorite style to do is realism (surrealism comes next), I typically end up drawing a lot more cartoony types of drawings. I have a lot of ideas of things I want to draw, but I get so intimidated by the huge list in my head that I frequently don't do the drawings I really want to do.

I also love to write. My writing, like my art, also varies. I love to write prose and lyrics. I also enjoy writing my story The Morningstar Legacy, which I have been working on for about 5 years now. It's still no where near finished, but... I am making progress. Don't expect to see it out in bookstores any time soon though.
